PREDICCIÓN DE LOS ESTEREOTIPOS ACADÉMICOS ANTE LOS ESTUDIANTES INMIGRANTES

espanolEste trabajo pretende someter a prueba un modelo predictivo explicativo de las concepciones en torno a las capacidades de aprendizaje de los estudiantes inmigrantes a partir de las actitudes ante la inmigracion y de las actitudes ante la educacion multicultural de los profesores en formacion. Participan 720 estudiantes de pedagogia con edades comprendidas entre los 18 y 33 anos. Los resultados sugieren que la postura de los sujetos frente a los derechos humanos y la inclinacion para establecer relaciones con inmigrantes se relacionan directamente con la valoracion de la educacion multicultural y que esta, a su vez, puede predecir la atribucion de estereotipos academicos. Se concluye que es precisa una formacion inicial en el profesorado sobre educacion multicultural. EnglishThis paper intends to test a predictive explanatory model of conceptions related to learning abilities of immigrant students starting from their own immigrant attitudes and their attitudes towards multicultural education. The sample consisted of 740 training teachers aged between 18 and 33. Results show that the individual�s attitude towards human rights and willingness to establish relationships with other immigrants are directly related to the value of multicultural education and, that this type of education, in turn, can predict the attribution of academic stereotypes. We conclude that there is a need for a multicultural education in initial teacher training.
