ORCID

ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) is a 16-digit persistent identifier for individual researchers, formatted as 0000-0000-0000-0000. It disambiguates researchers with similar names and links an author to their publications across all publishers and databases. Most journals now require or strongly encourage ORCID during submission. Registration is free at orcid.org.
