Public Synopsis

We are proposing a new approach to surface codes that drastically reduces the overhead required for quantum error correction in NISQ hardware. The theoretical framework has been drafted, but we require a researcher with direct experimental experience implementing cross-resonance gates on IBM Quantum systems to run the empirical validation.
